579. Song Nanette IV (28, Singapore) Tue, 29 Jun 1999 20:29:51 (JST)
I hold great admiration for the elephants and my greatest dre am is to go to Africa and see them face to face before they are totally w ipe out. I love them but I have to acknowledge the fact that they will be extinct in the near future. I'm not cursing them but with poaching, deforestatio n, explosion of population, I believe they are going to be extinct. I have great admiration for Cynthia Moss, Joyce Poole etc for their effor ts in understanding, protecting the elephants. Right now, I'm reading a book written by an American titled "The Fate of Elephant". Sadly to say, your nation is one of the greatest consumers of ivory which lead to the wholescale destruction of elephants. I will be very happy if you can e-mail me and tell me about your views on the future of elephants. Regards, Nanette
